  3. One of the goals for Head Office was to make it as easy as possible to update weekly stats. Some software allows manual entry (as does Head Office), but with a league of any size I found this far too time consuming.

  5. Remember, with your spare time you want to be running your team and league, not spending a few hours each week typing in stats from an ESPN‚Ñ¢ broadcast or from the local newspaper...

When I started writing Head Office in 1993 (it has been in use for over 3 years), I looked for a reasonably priced stats service that could provide the stats I needed within the best time frame alloted. Some services, would post their stats too late in the week, would only have certain stats, didn't have player ID numbers and so on.

  12. The service I finally decided upon was Quick Stats. They have proven very reliable and extremely helpful if you have any trouble with their files.

  20. Stats may be downloaded from Quick Stats bulletin board at (770) 623-3850.  Current price structure as of this writing (March 1997) is $70.00  for internet access and $75.00 for Bulletin Board access.

  23. Quick Stats BBS Access

  25. BBS (Bulletin Board Service) Users can download sample stat files by dialing (770) 623-3850 and responding to the logon prompts as follows:

  28.      Last Name:        STATS
  29.       Password:        SERVICE

  31. Note :  To access a BBS, you do need a communications software program.  There is very good program available called Z-Term written by:
